Description
These dual brush pens have a versatile and flexible nylon fiber brush tip on 1 end that creates medium or bold strokes by simply changing brush pressure. The fine tip on the other end is for smooth straight lines or writing. The resilient nylon brush retains its point, stroke after stroke. The ink is water-based and blendable: use 2 colors together, or use the colorless blender pen. The pen tips self-clean after blending so there is no messy clean-up! Use these pens for coloring, rubber stamping, hand-lettering, doodling, journaling, and more. Perfect for fine art techniques. The ink is acid-free, non-toxic, odorless, and non-bleeding. Each package contains 10 pens (9 colored, 1 colorless). Available in a variety of color schemes, each sold separately. Conforms to ASTM D 4236.

In my first photo, Kuretake is on the left and Tombows on the right.I couldn’t decide between buying these or the Kuretake Brush pens so I decided to buy both and do a comparison.Tombow: I love the vibrant colors and it’s ability to make thick strokes but if you’re a beginner, the softness will make it difficult to make transition from thin to thick lines so you’ll need a lot of practice. The durability is questionable because the brushes start to split after a short period of time. I had a lot of issues with these when I first bought them so I had to exchange them for a new pack. The replacement was significantly better but still had the problem of splitting. The quality of the pens is also luck of the draw. The issues I had with the first pack and second packages seem to be some of the same ones other buyers have had. The colors don’t completely match what they’re supposed to be. In my first pack, the purple looked blue and my red was a brownish color. The new pack, the purple looks purple but now the red looks pink. I also don’t like how the light green looks yellow with a slight green hue in it. In my first set, i had difficulties with consistency among brushes. Some were very soft while others were firm. This new pack luckily are all consistent. If you’re advanced with calligraphy, I don’t think you’ll have issues making thick and thin lines but if you’re a beginner, it’ll definitely take practice making transitions from thin to thick. Still, I think these are a good buy because of the color vibrancy and ability to make really thick strokes. My boyfriend has been doing calligraphy much longer than I have and although the brush is splitting, he has the ability to not let it show when he’s writing, so with more practice as, I think these will end up working fine for me so long as the brushes don’t continue to split.Kuretake: firm enough to make thin lines and soft enough to make thick strokes. Transitions between thin and thick are simple making them great for beginners. My boyfriend also enjoyed using them. Colors are all vibrant and as expected except orange, it looks a bit more gold. Though I haven’t had them very long, durability is on point and I’ve had no issues with splitting. I definitely recommend Kuretake Fude for beginners or advanced and personally prefer the Kuretake over the Tombow. With many different types of brush pens available, it can be difficult to figure out which ones to buy when thinking of their quality and value. The ‘Tombow Dual Brush Pens’ can be used in a variety of ways and are durable making them are worth buying.Due to the recent popularity of calligraphy, many customers buy these pens. The flexible tip on the brush side of the pens is good for practicing both basic calligraphy and for watercolor-like coloring. These pens are also easy to be mixed and make new colors. The other side of these pens is much thinner and can be used for regular writing. You can also use the thinner side with your calligraphy by bordering letters and make your calligraphy more unique proving that these pens have a variety of uses.In addition to the versatility of the pens, the Tombow Pens are very durable. I have had these pens for seven months and use them quite often. Many other pens and markers that I have used dry out in this amount of time, and don’t have as much vibrancy as when I first started using them. However, these markers still retain a lot of their color even after their frequent usage. My experience isn’t uncommon as many of my friends have owned these markers for a year and still use them weekly due to their durability.Even with many positive attributes, one point often complained about is people finding it difficult to quickly learn calligraphy with these pens. The truth is that it takes a lot of time to master the art. It is necessary to practice all the letters and get used to writing in this new way before blaming everything on the pens. It is recommended for beginners to use tutorials to learn more about the pens, and not expect to be perfect on your first try.I recommend these pens for people who are looking for thin and precise markers as well as thicker brush pens. This pack of ten pens produces beautiful and effective results due to them having many different uses and them lasting a very long time.I have purchased so many different markers lately. My granddaughter and I love to color. I have the Staedtler Johanna Basford Triplus Fineliner Pens for Adult Coloring Books and Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils, Soft Core. Sharpies big and small and ultra fine point. BIC Marking Permanent Marker Fashion Colors, Ultra Fine Point, Assorted Colors. Write Dudes Ultra Fine-Point Infinity pens, 8 Count, which are really really good for pens but not nearly enough colors. All that aside these Tombow are to die for!!! I could not be more exited with the quality and the fluid flow onto paper. I have found that paper in coloring books are as big a key as the marker. I have severe arthritis in my hands and found that pencils need to be pressed harder to color the area without leaving the white paper showing. Too hard on my hands and I love Staedtler pencils but Prismacolor is a deeper cover quality. Copic markers are the very top of the line and I love them but can't afford them since I am NOT a real artist that is producing my own work. I'm simply coloring for fun but its no fun when some markers bleed so heavy or some pull the paper up. Sharpies are great especially the ultra fine point but not enough colors. Bic bleeds outward so it will bleed over the line if not careful. To me Staedtler and Johanna's stuff is way over rated and now so commercialized that the quality seems to have gone down and my recent purchase of Staedtler Duo color Markers was disappointing.. Stabilo Point 68 is a really good brand for those tiny hard to get areas and the colors are wonderful. Faber-Castel is affordable and mostly pretty good with the pitt artist brush, slightly expensive but a lot less than copic. They have a kids quality marker that is good as for my granddaughter. But all in all after trying these awesome Tombow I ordered more sets in different colors and can not wait for them to arrive. They are the bestLove these brush pens! They're so bright and really flexible. A bit hard to do the thin up strokes but that comes with practice. I would probably recommend this to someone who had practised hand lettering before. It might be a hard pen to use for a beginner/newbie for brush lettering. Also make sure you use PREMIUM paper of your blending using the blending pen, otherwise the paper will make those bubbles and fray.Brilliant pens! I love them. Super bright colours, don't bleed on even cheap paper & are smooth to write with once you get the hang of using such high-quality markers. They are definitely to blame for the start of my pen hoarding! The product also arrived very quickly to the UK which was a lovely surprise.Been using this constantly since buying them and there so fun to use. The fine tip on one end is great for detailing and highlights. The brush tip on the other end is nice and soft for block colours. I draw characters and animation art and the colours are bold and bright exactly what I wantedPigment and colour is great!! Can't nock that. But I brought these for trying out calligraphy in my journal, and they don't work for that. Shaped to look like they do but they don't.They're more for colouring in.Looks great, great for calligraphy and feels comfortable in hand! Nice flexible tip, and the colours are really nice and pigmented. The blending is great as well. So happy with these and would definitely buy more!
